This beautiful Kutchinsky-like design gold ring is made out of solid gold.* This beautiful buckle ring could very well have been made by Kutchinsky, but we are not sure. It is gorgeous, and looks like another ring sold at Bohnams back in 2013 that was determined to be a Kutchinsky. To be sure, there are several stamps on the ring. But they are there to guarantee the 14-carat content of this lovely ring. So, we have our doubts and, if our experts are asked to do more research, it will cost us more money. So, we have decided to price it lower, and let some lucky person enjoy this beautiful ring!

But what's all the fuss about Kutchinsky?

Not very well known in the US, Joseph Kutchinsky (1914-2000) came from a Polish immigrant family, and produced some high-quality jewelry. The family jewelry firm existed in Poland for a very long time, and was very prestigious there, making jewelry for the court of Ludwig of Bavaria. Eventually, in 1991, it was bought by Mousaieff Jewellers.

Kutchinsky or not, this ring is stunning, stamped, and in excellent condition.

*Information on gold jewelry:

- 24K gold is pure gold. (it is not really used in jewellery because it is too soft and not practical for daily wear.)
-18K gold contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 75% gold. This level of fineness is used extensively in French and Italian jewelry and in most quality pieces)
-14K gold contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 58.3% gold. (It is used extensively in the US)
-12K gold contains 12 parts gold and 12 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 50% gold.
-10K gold contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 41.7% gold. 10K gold is the minimum standard that can be called "gold" in the United States.
Antique jewelry and rare items often contain the lower level of fineness, but their value is based on a myriad of other factors.
