DESCRIPTION:
This is a gorgeous ring. If you were to propose with this ring in your hand, I doubt that you would have to suffer the indignity of getting a cold shoulder! But, if the ring can easily be used as an engagement ring, it also has all of the attributes of a ring one can wear at a special diner soiree. It would also be wonderful for an anniversary. Not to mention a myriad of other uses!. It is just a beautiful ring...
It is also an unusual ring, with a design not seen anywhere else. The designer was quite an incubator of new forms, and his idea of separating the center diamond from its halo outer ring with a bed of solid 18-carat white gold is quite an innovation. The result is a sleek geometrical quasi modernist looking piece of fine jewelry that seems to usher in the Mid-century design period.

The ring is made out of 18K solid gold and features a total carat weight of approximately 0.50ctw. The halo diamonds set up the center diamond and recall the sun darting its rays. The diamonds are all well matched and of high quality (I-J and IF-VVS1)

This wonderful ring is in excellent condition.

*Information on gold jewelry:

- 24K gold is pure gold. (it is not really used in jewellery because it is too soft and not practical for daily wear.)
-18K gold contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 75% gold. This level of fineness is used extensively in French and Italian jewelry and in most quality pieces)
-14K gold contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 58.3% gold. (It is used extensively in the US)
-12K gold contains 12 parts gold and 12 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 50% gold.
-10K gold contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 41.7% gold. 10K gold is the minimum standard that can be called "gold" in the United States.
Antique jewelry and rare items often contain the lower level of fineness, but their value is based on a myriad of other factors.
