This is a gorgeous wide band made out of 18K solid gold and covered with diamonds. Its innovative design is a take on the step down design, but with a gallery that enhances the soft shape of the ring and forms a bridge. That bridge is crafted in 18-carat solid white gold and forms the base of the diamonds. The gem stones are evenly clear, bright and well matched. They are true natural gems and are not lab created. None are missing.

The white gold band continues on the shoulders and ushers in the shank. The contrast between the solid white and bright yellow gold is very successful. This, indeed, is a very well crafted piece of fine jewelry.

The ring has multiple uses. From a man's finger ring to a woman bridal or an anniversary gift. We have dated this ring to the late 1940s -- a period when Art Déco was slowly giving way to the Rétro period. You can see elements of both periods in this ring which is fully hallmarked and guaranteed. This is a strong, heavy ring and, at the same time, it has a classic elegance that will make you reach for it as your ring of choice. It is in excellent vintage condition. Any white or cloudy spots on the image is glare and/or photographic obstructions.

*Information on gold jewelry:

- 24K gold is pure gold. (it is not really used in jewellery because it is too soft and not practical for daily wear.)
-18K gold contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 75% gold. This level of fineness is used extensively in French and Italian jewelry and in most quality pieces)
-14K gold contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 58.3% gold. (It is used extensively in the US)
-12K gold contains 12 parts gold and 12 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 50% gold.
-10K gold contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 41.7% gold. 10K gold is the minimum standard that can be called "gold" in the United States.
Antique jewelry and rare items often contain the lower level of fineness, but their value is based on a myriad of other factors.
