DESCRIPTION:
This beautiful blue topaz is bezel set on a massive shank crafted in 18K solid gold. And with its deeply saturated blue color, this ring is a knock out!

Topaz is one of the hardest of all gemstones. Its hard property is perfect for jewelry making. There exists may types of topaz and, here, in this heavy 18K bright yellow gold, we are pleased to showcase a lovely aqua blue faceted pear-shaped topaz measuring approximately 14mm x 9 mm (at the widest part).

The gem is well saturated and perfectly translucent.
The topaz gem ushers in a hefty bright yellow 18 carat gold shank which is substantial enough to receive modifications to the ring's size. it features the French owl assay mark which is a guarantee of its metal purity.

The band shows a few scratches commensurate with age, but the stone shows no inclusions and is in excellent vintage condition. We have dated this ring to the 1930s, the Art Déco era. It can be worn with everything from jeans to evening wear.

This ring would be stunning on a man's little finger. It could also be a bride's favorite "something blue" gemstone.

*Information on gold jewelry:

- 24K gold is pure gold. (it is not really used in jewellery because it is too soft and not practical for daily wear.)
-18K gold contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 75% gold. This level of fineness is used extensively in French and Italian jewelry and in most quality pieces)
-14K gold contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 58.3% gold. (It is used extensively in the US)
-12K gold contains 12 parts gold and 12 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 50% gold.
-10K gold contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 41.7% gold. 10K gold is the minimum standard that can be called "gold" in the United States.
Antique jewelry and rare items often contain the lower level of fineness, but their value is based on a myriad of other factors.
