This is a lovely vintage Edwardian 18K solid gold necklace. At the same time, it is a perfect symbol of the Art Nouveau Period which started in France with the advent of the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes held in Paris in 1925.

The filigree links that make up the necklace are typical of the Art Nouveau period which is characterized by floral motifs, scrolls and volutes. It gives an airy and light quality to this beautiful necklace. To-day, objects issued from that period are in high demand, and fetch a high price due to their rarity.

The necklace can serve many purpose, but looks wonderful on a simple black dress or turtle neck sweater. It is in excellent vintage condition showing very, very minimum wear. In fact, it looks as if it had seldom been worn.

-10K gold contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 41.7% gold. 10K gold is the minimum standard that can be called "gold" in the United States.
Antique jewelry and rare items often contain the lower level of fineness, but their value is based on a myriad of other factors.
