We are pleased to present an utterly charming ring!
Crafted in 18K solid gold, we like the way the craftsman has decorated the shank before setting a deeply purple amethyst. It is perfectly clear without inclusions and possesses a translucent clarity and vitreous luster which let the light pass through the stone unhindered. We imagine this gem to have a Brazilian origin due to the slightly rose flashes one can observe during certain types of lighting conditions. The gem measures 9mm x 6mm which amounts to about 1.50ct. It is securely bezel set. The ring is in excellent vintage condition showing only minimum wear with a 10X loupe. It will be cleaned before shipment and will arrive in a presentation box. Any spots, white or cloudy marks on the photo is glare and/or photographic obstructions.

Material: 18K solid gold, amethyst
Size: 7
face of the ring is approximately 9mm x 6mm
Weight: 2g
Period: Edwardian, Art Nouveau, Ca. 1910s
Style: solitaire, bridal, statement, anniversary
Condition: excellent vintage, minimum wear
Additional remarks: stamped with the French eagle head assay mark. It has also been professionally tested to be 18-carat solid gold content

*Information on gold jewelry:

- 24K gold is pure gold. (it is not really used in jewellery because it is too soft and not practical for daily wear.)
-18K gold contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 75% gold. This level of fineness is used extensively in French and Italian jewelry and in most quality pieces)
-14K gold contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 58.3% gold. (It is used extensively in the US)
-12K gold contains 12 parts gold and 12 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 50% gold.
-10K gold contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 41.7% gold. 10K gold is the minimum standard that can be called "gold" in the United States.
Antique jewelry and rare items often contain the lower level of fineness, but their value is based on a myriad of other factors.
