This beautiful sword-like brooch is in a remarkably excellent condition given the fact that it was crafted at the turn of the twentieth century-- the Art Nouveau period which can also fall at the beginning of the Edwardian era.
The splendid craftsmanship will take your breath away. The photos can hardly do justice to the elegant natural pearls and silver leaves adorned with rose cut diamonds or the scrolling lines of the foliage-- all of which typifies the aesthetics of the Art Nouveau Era.
The brooch is made out of top material -- 18K solid gold and silver. It features several diamonds cut in two different ways -- the larger one, weighing approximately 3mm, is an old European cut, and is very bright and free from inclusions. The small diamonds are rose cut of various sizes. We have counted approximately, and conservatively, 29 roses. It is remarkable that none are missing! The brooch is in solid gold and so is the pin which shows a stamp guaranteeing its 18 carat solid gold content.
This gorgeous brooch is in excellent estate condition. We have noticed no repair nor solder of any kind. It is a perfect example of the craftsmanship of this wonderful Art Nouveau period.
